Mining Operations

Gold, precious stones, copper, cobalt, iron ore and more: sell or finance what the mine produces, then fund the machines and the infrastructure that transform the operation and the community around it.

For artisanal and small-scale miners, cooperatives, and mine and concession owners, in Africa and worldwide.

24/7clean water, energy and internet for the community
30%+higher crop yields from organic fertilizer made from the black carbon in coal
100%of a qualifying gold mine’s output purchased by the institutional partner
3×the transaction value in top-rated securities, evidenced to the owner’s lawyer

All of this is possible through the institutional partner of Magister Operis, dedicated to the socioeconomic transformation of Africa and beyond through business education and strategic project funding, and at home with African governments, banking and central banking.

What the mine can do

I · Sell or finance the output

According to what the mine produces

  • Gold (doré, dust, nuggets): bought outright, paid on the fine metal the refinery recovers, at a price agreed before shipment; collected by a bonded carrier, insured in the owner’s name, refined in Switzerland.
  • Precious stones: monetized for project funding under bankable conditions, with an insurance wrap where needed.
  • Other precious metals (platinum, rhodium, silver and similar): purchased, and potentially monetized, by the partner’s sister investment company.
  • Copper, cobalt, iron ore and other minerals: not purchased by the partner. The operation is financed on its documentation: an independent resource report, secure title, a proven management team, and signed off-take agreements that show the funding bank a market for the product.
  • Duties and royalties paid as the country’s law requires, coordinated with the government authority.

Gold — Un-Refined →   Hard Assets →

II · Transform the operation

From hand work to modern production

  • Start with the ground: a geological survey specifies the equipment, and the crew to run it.
  • Heavy machinery that easily out-works human hands: digging, hauling and processing at volume.
  • State-of-the-art separation, on site.
  • For a qualifying gold mine, the institutional partner purchases the full output: no separate off-take agreement to chase.
  • Smaller sites can be grouped (a cooperative, a district) into one bankable program.
  • Funds disbursed in draws against verified progress.

Owners — Gold, Precious Metals and Stones →   Project Funding →

Large volumes of gold: four routes

RouteWhat happens
A · SaleBought by the partner’s sister investment company.
B · MonetizationA loan against the gold, not a sale: monetized by the sister investment company at near 100% loan-to-value and leveraged for project funding or investment.
C · Bond collateralCollateral for green or ESG bonds.
D · CombinedAll of the above, where enough gold is available.

Documentation for each route: Owners — Gold, Precious Metals and Stones.

Sell the gold, and grow from it

  • Sell the product, or put the gold to work as collateral for large-scale fundraising, so the mine funds its own growth.
  • The partner’s technologies (energy from used tires and municipal waste, organic fertilizer from coal) serve the community and can each become another profit stream for the owner.
  • A financially strong owner can also invest in them directly.
  • Funding a mining operation follows the pre-compliance on Project Funding (the twelve categories).

Costs cut to the bare minimum

Sellers often ask a buyer to come to the site and cover refining, shipping, insurance and taxes. Some buyers will. The institutional partner does not pay a seller who then pays others; it structures the sale to reduce the owner’s costs systematically to the bare minimum. Smarter, not harder. This route is reserved for owners and sellers able to operate at the partner’s professional level.

CostWhen it is paid
Verification visitPaid by the owner directly to the provider; reimbursed at closing after a successful assay.
Export papers, local testing or refiningWhere the country requires them, these may fall to the owner, kept to the minimum.
Transport and insuranceArranged through the bonded carrier; deducted at settlement.
Refining and assayDeducted at settlement.
Export taxes and royaltiesWhere agreed at the highest level of the host government, paid after the Swiss assay, at closing.
Payment to the ownerAt closing: ledger to ledger at a top Swiss bank, or to the owner’s own bank.

Banking and accountingCash, outside the banking systemBank relationships, currency exchange and books kept to international standards
The communityWater, power and signal when availableA master-planned community: clean water, energy and internet 24/7, and profitable waste disposal

What the whole community gains

Master planning the mining community is what delivers clean water, energy and internet 24/7, and profitable waste disposal.

GainWhat it brings
Clean waterSafe, reliable water for the community, around the clock.
Energy, 24/7Power for the mine and the homes.
Profitable waste disposalUsed tires and municipal waste converted into energy: disposal that earns instead of costs.
Internet, 24/7Connectivity for business, banking, school and family.
Fertilizer from coalThe black carbon in coal turned into an organic fertilizer that lifts crop yields upwards of 30% (Clean Coal).
Banking and accountingHelp organizing bank relationships, currency exchange and books the way banks, refineries and tax authorities expect.

Energy and fertilizer can come from the same coal. Each element is available where the program meets bankable requirements: The Energy Package.

What it means for those who lead

The families who gain include those of the people who decide.

WhoWhat they gain
Mine owner or operatorA modern, documented operation, bank relationships, and a business that can be financed again.
Traditional leaderWater, power and connectivity for the community, including the leader’s own household, and a place in what was built.
GovernmentExport taxes and royalties paid on documented production; a formal, tax-paying producer; a site the nation can point to.
Every familyClean water, energy, internet and, for deserving members, a path to business education.

Why the records matter

  • Banks, refineries and institutional buyers take only what they can trace. Every record the owner holds shortens the path to payment.
  • These are the standards a bank, a major accounting firm and a serious law firm apply to the same transaction. They are not distrust. Met early, they are the fastest way to close.
  • Each record is issued by someone other than the owner: the licence, customs papers, tax and royalty receipts, an accredited assay or laboratory certificate.
  • Where an owner does not know how, Magister Operis, through Integrity as a Service, helps make the operation compatible, compliant and effective with international business and banking.

The path, from the mine

  1. Letter of request. On the company’s or cooperative’s letterhead: who you are, the site, what it produces, the goals.
  2. Review. No charge. States exactly what is missing.
  3. Verification. The site and the material are verified at origin. For gold, the buyer’s representative and a bonded-carrier specialist test the metal; the cost is reimbursed at closing after a successful assay.
  4. Export. Duties and royalties settled with the export authority, as the law requires; where agreed at the highest level of the host government, paid after the Swiss assay, at closing.
  5. Transport and refining. Insured in the owner’s name; gold refined in Switzerland.
  6. Settlement. Paid to the owner’s bank or, when the institutional partner buys the gold, to an account it helps open at a top Swiss bank, so payment moves ledger to ledger within one bank.
  7. The program. An owner who advances through pre-compliance and project-funding readiness opens a larger door than a single shipment: a funded program for the mine and its community.

Or non affiné (page en anglais) →

II · Transformer l’exploitation

Grands volumes d’or : quatre voies

Vendre l’or, et grandir grâce à lui
